A Bucket List Staycation at Bellagio Las Vegas

Bellagio Exterior View

One of the most famous resorts in Las Vegas (and letโ€™s be honest, the world) is Bellagio Las Vegas. Designed to model a commune at Lake Como, Italy, the resort has been featured in numerous television shows and movies for years.

Bellagio Staycation

The property is also home to three of the most fantastic free things to do in Las Vegas, and it makes a beautiful staycation destination. MGM Resorts International recently invited us to visit the hotel and enjoy everything the resort has to offer.

Check-In

We arrived to find a lengthy check-in line at 3 p.m.; however, the front desk was fully staffed, and the line went quickly. Situated behind the front desk is a stunning seasonal design that perfectly matches the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden display. If youโ€™re shorter on time, make sure to download the MGM Resorts app in advance so you can take advantage of the mobile check-in process. Itโ€™s fast and easy and once you are finished, pick up your room keys at the designated โ€œroom keyโ€ part of the front desk.

We had a stunning premier room on the 22nd floor with a view that overlooked the pool. The rooms are relatively large with multiple seating options and one of the larges showers youโ€™ll find in a hotel room on the Strip. Room access is strictโ€”guests must present their room keys to enter the elevator vestibule, and particular floors require a room key scan for those levels to be accessed.

Lunch and Exploring

If youโ€™re itching to do some exploring or shopping, swing by the Bellagio Patisserie for a quick meal. The counter-service spot serves various decadent pastries, sandwiches and crepes. After your lunch, visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Garden. The displays here are switched out seasonally and for specific holidays.

If you didnโ€™t get a great look at the ceiling in the hotel lobby, be sure to make time to see it. The colorful glass flowers make up โ€œFiori di Como,โ€ a custom art installation by artist Dale Chihuly. Avoid going too close to the check-in and check-out times when the area is the most congested.

Shopping

The shopping promenade is bright and sunny and feels nothing like a casino. Here, youโ€™ll find designer favorites like Alexander McQueen, Chanel, and Louis Vuitton. The shopping promenade also contains several resort wear boutiques and specialty stores such as SJP by Sarah Jessica Parker (the only one in Las Vegas) and galleries like The Art of Richard McDonald. Many of the stores are appointment only so that you can get that VIP treatment.

Fountains of Bellagio

The world-famous Fountains of Bellagio are a marvelous spectacle no matter the time of the day, but theyโ€™re incredibly stunning when the sun goes down. There are fountain shows every day of the week; however, displays are subject to weatherโ€”especially when itโ€™s windy. The Fountains of Bellagio have shows every half hour from 3 p.m.-8 p.m. and every 15 minutes from 8 p.m. to midnight Monday through Friday. The fountain shows begin at noon on weekends and holidays and run on the half-hour until 8 p.m.

Dinner and a Show

If youโ€™re shorter on time, opt to visit The Mayfair Supper Club for the perfect combination of dinner and a Las Vegas show. The stunningly decorated venue houses delectable cuisine and fantastic entertainment. The cabaret features classic numbers and contemporary routines with the perfect back-up dancerโ€”the Fountains of Bellagio.

If you have some extra time to spare, visitย Le Cirqueย for dinner and enjoy decadent menu itemsโ€”all brand new after a 19-month closure due to COVID-19. Executive Chef Dameon Evers took the break as an opportunity to revamp the entire menu with layers of flavor and unexpected delights. His goalโ€”to do something different. โ€œEveryoneโ€™s doing risotto; everyoneโ€™s doing pasta. No one from what I know is doing Gnudi the way Iโ€™m doing it,โ€ he explained to us. The luxurious menu and beautiful design have earned Le Cirque a AAA Five Diamond Award.

After dinner, head over to โ€œOโ€ (a play on the French word for water, โ€œEauโ€) by Cirque du Soleil. The stunning aquatic show features performers from around the world with some of Cirque du Soleilโ€™s best talent. Marvel at the astonishing acrobats, synchronized swimmers, divers and more. Tickets for the hauntingly beautiful show start at $79 plus taxes and fees. If youโ€™re in search of a once-in-a-lifetime experience, purchase seats in the VIP suites and enjoy gourmet treats and champagne with the best views in the house.

Breakfast

After your classic night on the town, make sure to grab a great breakfast to round out your visit. Sadelleโ€™s is a perfect option located in the Bellagio Conservatory. The menu features items with a heavy NYC influence like the โ€œSalami and Eggsโ€ and the wide selection of smoked fish. If youโ€™re in the mood for something fancy, you can add caviar to any of the menu items. With the bright colors and equally picturesque menu items, the restaurant makes for some gorgeous photos.
