A Loud House Visit to Washington, DC

If you’re following along with Loud House‘s summer RV trek across America on Nickelodeon, you’ll know that Washington, DC is the next stop on the family’s summer vacation. We’ve found the best ways to enjoy your own version of the Loud House summer road trip (but we can’t get you an invitation to the president’s birthday party). Follow along for your own version of the Loud Road Trip!

Exploring Washington, DC Like The Loud House

White House

If you’re hoping to take a tour of theย White Houseย like the Loud family, you’re in luck. Tours are currently available from Tuesday through Saturday, 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Bookings must be made in advance at least 21 days prior to your expected visit (and no more than 90 days prior). Click the linkย hereย for more info on bookings. Make sure to check for details on what you can and cannot bring, what kind of identification you will need to have, and any other important information about your visit.

Ice Cream

If you’re looking for a sweet treat like Lana Loud, you won’t be able to look for any rumored ice cream rooms. That’s okayโ€”there are plenty of delicious spots serving up your favorite frozen treat all around Washington, DC.ย Larry’s Homemade Ice Creamย serves up fun new flavors and classic tastes in an old-fashioned style shop.ย Milk Barย brings Christina Tosi’s famous soft serves to life in a colorful space with delightful baked goods.ย Here’s the Scoopย has lots of flavors available in milkshakes, classic sundaes, and banana splits.

Bowling Alleys

While there is a confirmed bowling alley at the White House, you’re not likely to be throwing any strikes there like Lynn Jr. Even so, you can still try for a new high score at a few fun places around Washington, DC.ย Pinstripes,ย Punch Bowl Social Arlington, andย Bowlero Arlingtonย all serve up comfortable cuisine and family-friendly fun in a setting with bowling lanes and arcade games.

First Lady Fashion

You might not get to try on the First Lady’s dresses like Lola Loud did (with disastrous results), but you can get a look at some First Lady fashion at theย Smithsonian Institute’s National Museum of American History. The First Ladies exhibit features over two dozen historic gowns from famous First Ladies, including Dolly Madison, Jacqueline Kennedy, and Michelle Obama.

Bakeries

Lynn Sr. sure did get a look at that Presidential birthday cake! You won’t be sneaking into the kitchens on your visit, but that doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy some great cakes on your own.ย Georgetown Cupcakeย has a rotating selection of different flavors.ย Watergate Pastryย has cakes of all kinds in various sizes.ย Baked & Wiredย has a unique assortment of sweets that are sure to please any palate.

The Best Attractions for the Loud Familyย

You won’t be jamming out in the music room like Luna, but there are some immersive and stimulating exhibits in Washington, DC, for those with a lot of energy to spare! We’ve rounded up some spots we think the Loud Family should check out on their next visit to our nation’s Capital!ย
