Greek Mezze at Limani New York

While a Greek vacation might be on many peopleโ€™s bucket lists, travel is still a little more complicated than before, with flight delays and price hikes. If youโ€™re in New York City, you can still enjoy some delicious Mediterranean flavors, and fresh seafood catches that will have you dreaming of a trip to the Greek Isles. Here are some of our favorite Greek restaurants in NYC so you can take a little flavor vacation without ever leaving the Big Apple.

The Best Greek Food in New York City

Limani New York

Take a trip to Greece without a passport atย Limani New York. Located in the heart of Rockefeller Center, from the moment they step through the doors, diners are instantly transported to the Greek Isles with โ€‹โ€‹flavors like the stuffed calamari and the Kolokithi. The menu includes fresh catches that are flown in from the Mediterranean on a daily basis. The restaurant also has an extensive selection of seafood items from the raw bar along with whole fish options, and the prix fixe lunch menu is a fantastic way to sample specials at $35 per person, with options like the โ€œLoup de Merโ€ and โ€œLobster Pasta.โ€ If youโ€™re in the mood for a perfect pairing, Limani has a wide range of Greek wines.

Taverna Kyclades

Thereโ€™s frequently a line waiting to get intoย Taverna Kycladesย in Astoria, but donโ€™t let that discourage you. The line moves quickly, and the food is certainly worth the wait. The restaurant is known for its seafood, and thatโ€™s undoubtedly what you should orddr. Start with the grilled octopus or Mardia (smelt). There are nearly 20 seafood entrees, including the Mediterranean sea bass and dorata. Thereโ€™s also grilled swordfish, fillet of sole, grilled or fried sardines and Greek-style shrimp with feta, ouzo and tomatoes. The wine list has several Greek vintages that expertly pair with any seafood dish.

Estiatorio Milos

Famously known for its outstanding lunch specials,ย Estiatorio Milosย is a seafood loverโ€™s paradise. Try out the menu with their โ€œBack to the Office Lunch,โ€ priced at $39 for three courses or go all-out with their a la carte menu. If youโ€™re in the mood for the freshest seafood, order items from their raw bar like the Greek ceviche or the Avgotaraho. The Milos Special is a fan favorite at locations across the countryโ€”the zucchini and eggplant tower is also highly photogenic. Make sure to save room for dessert!
