If you’re like me, you’ve marked your calendars for the Hello Kitty Truck at some point in the last decade. Fans would wait for hours to get a little souvenir from the adorable truck whenever it would visit and were overjoyed when the Hello Kitty Cafe at Fashion Show Las Vegas. We were invited in during a media preview to see the cafe and taste the menu.

Hello Kitty Cafe’s Newest Las Vegas Location

The new location opened this month with over 500 fans in line by opening (representatives told us the line snaked out into the parking garage). Roughly the same number of Hello Kitty lovers waited outside the first location between New York-New York and Park MGM on opening day in 2019 (despite over 100° temperatures).

In addition to Instagrammable spaces all throughout the cafe, visitors can enjoy Hello Kitty soft-serve ice cream (in Hello Kitty cones, of course), Sanrio character-themed cupcakes (like Chococat and My Melody), sweet drinks and a selection of themed merchandise. Visitors on the opening day even got to visit with Hello Kitty herself, special giveaways for the first 100 guests and exclusive gifts with purchase, especially for opening day.

“The Hello Kitty Cafe has become an iconic destination for friends and fans across the world where they can be part of the Sanrio community and share in Hello Kitty’s global message of friendship and kindness whether it be IRL or in the metaverse,” Craig Takiguchi, COO and Head of Business Development at Sanrio, Inc, said in a statement to the press. “We are excited to be expanding the cafe experience in Las Vegas where locals and visitors can experience a new, sweet way to enjoy all things Hello Kitty.”
