Atomic Saloon Show, situated within the Grand Canal Shoppes at The Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, isn’t for the timid. This Wild West-themed variety show fuses outrageous comedy, daring acrobatics, and provocative theatrical performances, all within a whimsical saloon setting. With its dynamic acts and side-splitting humor, the Atomic Saloon Show enchants audiences, offering a distinctive break from the everyday. One of the newest members of the cast, Louis Biggs, stars as the new Mayor of the Atomic Saloon.

From Broome, Western Australia, the new cast member is multi-talented as not only a performer but a certified sailing skipper, dive master, and master of the Rubik’s cube. No stranger to the circus, Biggs once began as a popcorn maker and server. We talked with him about his performing background, the show, and his Vegas faves.

Louis Biggs from Atomic Saloon Show Shares His Favorite Las Vegas Spots

WG: What brought you to Las Vegas? Where are you from, and how long have you lived there?
Biggs: I’ve been in Vegas for seven months; I moved here from Australia from a life on the road as an international touring circus/burlesque performer with no fixed address. That was my life for the last ten years prior. Before that, I was a youth circus kid, training and teaching at Luna Circus, Sandfly Circus and Fruit Fly Circus.

Vegas opened its doors to me through a series of connections in the industry I’ve made along this journey but mainly I have OPM the show to thank for my induction into the crazy world that is Las Vegas. I had many friends in that show, including the resident director, who facilitated my auditions. My second audition was actually one of the first performances to take place out in Nipton, Spiegelworld’s circus town outside Vegas.

WG: What do you love best about Las Vegas?
Biggs: My favorite thing about las Vegas has to be the lights. Flying into/out of Vegas or driving down the strip or down the hill from Boulder City absolutely and positively sparkles. I’ve never been, sadly, but I’m certain you would be able to see Las Vegas from space!

WG: What is your favorite way to spend an evening/afternoon if you’re going to The Strip?
Biggs: If I was to go to The Strip, one of my favorite spots would have to be Circus Circus. The history of Vegas lives strong in that bizarre place. But I tend to find myself Downtown more often. Something about old Vegas has a certain romance.

WG: What is your favorite spot to bring visiting family and friends?
Biggs: If I were showing my family around, I would take my Dad to the Pinball Hall of Fame, my Mum for a gondola ride through the Venetian or for a view from the Eiffel Tower, and my sister to the Neon Boneyard off-strip.

For my friends, however, a drive down The Strip in a convertible with the top down is always a win. Or try your luck sneaking into some of the resort’s incredible pools. Then, see where the Vegas night takes you. Then, obviously, I would supply them with a list of all my favorite shows to see. Atomic Saloon Show is at the top of the list. 😉 The venue alone is a must-see.

WG: Where are some of your favorite places to go and things to do in Las Vegas on your days off?
Biggs: On my days off, I tend to let Vegas live without me. I value my rest as we do ten shows a week, so a sleep-in is always welcome. And I enjoy exploring all of the incredible surroundings Nevada and its neighbors have to offer. If the weather is cool, the Arizona Hot Springs or Red Rock Canyon for a rock climb or hike are a must. If it’s a bit warmer, Lake Mead for a dip or a bit of boating is lovely. Just mind the barrels, or find a friend with a pool and catch up on your Vegas gossip.

If it’s too hot, hide! And wait for the sun to go down, then pop down to the drive-in and catch a movie. I’ve been five times already. Make sure you grab some street tacos on the way.
