Expert Tips From a Local Concierge

Nobody knows a city like the local concierge team. With the inside track on all the best places to dine, shows to see and things to do, they’re a wealth of knowledge for all travelers. We talk with a top local hotel concierge in Las Vegas to get the inside scoop on all their expert tips.

Brad Karanauskas, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

What should be on every visitor’s “bucket list” when visiting?
Karanauskas: Go visit Town Square. Even though it is three miles south of the strip, visitors can enjoy a variety of restaurants and shopping outlets that will appeal to everyone’s personal taste.

What’s an excellent spot to capture a great selfie?
Karanauskas: For historical purposes and to have an everlasting memory, the Las Vegas sign is the place to be. It’s been a photo op for millions of visitors since 1959!

What is the best suggestion you can give a first-time visitor?
Karanauskas: In the summertime and wintertime, dress accordingly. In the summer, even though it may be 115 degrees outside, the casinos can be as cold as a meat locker.

If someone only had 24-hours in Vegas, where would you send them?
Karanauskas: Any of the various shows, comedy clubs, nightclubs or day club pool parties are all great choices.

For a guest looking for a night on the town, what would you recommend?
Karanauskas: There are various vendors that do food tours at different restaurants. You can sample an eclectic variety of cuisines.

Any suggestions for the best under-the-radar sites or uncommon things to do?
Karanauskas: Visit the historic Hotel Apache in downtown Las Vegas. It’s considered the most haunted location in Las Vegas, and many people have encountered celebrity spirit interactions.

Where’s the best place to take kids of all ages?
Karanauskas: The Springs Preserve.
