Traditional Mojito

If you’re not familiar with Mojitos, you may be missing out! Mojitos are traditional Cuban highballs with rum, lime, sugar, mint, and soda. These refreshing libations are widely available throughout Miami so raise a glass with friends at these local spots!

Mojitos Calle 8

With “mojito” right there in the name, you know you’ll be able to get a perfectly crafted Cuban highball atย Mojitos Calle 8. The traditional mojito is made with the classic five key ingredients: rum, sugar, lime, mint and soda. Or, you can up ante with 15 different flavored variations. Flavors like raspberry, pineapple and mango are perfect for summer. Stop by for happy hour from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. every day and grab a 12-ounce or 21-ounce beverage for half the usual price!

Cafe La Trova

Julio Cabrera is one of the most influential bartenders behind the Cantinero movement in the United States, and his expertise makesย Cafe La Trovaย a destination for imbibers in Miami. (Chef Michelle Bernstein’s James Beard Award-winning cuisine doesn’t hurt either!) The house mojito is simply prepared in the classic style. No extra frills are needed when the mint and lime juice are this fresh. The “Cubano Viejo” is similar to a mojito and a perfect drink to order for round two. Like its cousin, “Cubano Viejo” has lime and mint but subs the light rum for aged rum and soda for ginger beer. A dash of bitters rounds out the beverage.

Mojitobar

Get ready to party at Bayside Marketplace in Miami.ย Mojitobarย is bringing the high-energy fun and freshly squeezed mojitos in a variety of flavors. There are 12 ways to enjoy a mojito, including the O.G. recipe. Most of the mojitos are made with Don Q Cristal Rum with mint muddled to order. Keep it tropical with flavors like coconut and passionfruit. If you want to try a mojito with something other than rum, the Rรฉmy Martin mojito showcases just how well V.S.O.P. works in this classic highball. Arrange a designated driver and order either the Hurricane mojito, a 24-ounce behemoth, or the Mega mojito, a 32-ounce cocktail in a light-up LED tower that’s yours to keep as a souvenir.

Old’s Havana

The vintage decor and music transport patrons ofย Old’s Havanaย straight back to pre-revolutionary Cuba. Located on the famous “Calle Ocho” in Little Havana, this Cuban eatery is well known for its incredible cocktails, including Hemingway’s favorite daiquiris and the essential Cuban highball, the mojito. There are seven flavors of mojitos on the menu, and each one is made with high-quality rum. Try a classic mojito with aged rum for an extra taste of vintage Cuba. The rum menu is extensive, and the bar staff would be happy to put any selection into a hand-muddled mojito just for you.
