Boston on a Budget with Go City

There are so many fantastic things to do and places to visit in Boston; it can be not only overwhelming but expensive too. That doesn’t mean you need to limit yourself if you’re on a smaller budgetโ€”it’s easy to see all the sights and make the most of your time in the city without breaking the bank. I was gifted a Boston all-inclusive pass from Go City Boston and had the chance to explore so much of the city. The brand has two fantastic passesโ€”one that allows you to maximize your time by fitting in as much as possible (the All-Inclusive) and one that allows you to visit a fixed number of attractions over a longer period of time (the Explorer). Here are some of the best ways to make the most of your pass!

Get the Lay of the Land

Your Boston all-inclusive pass comes with a CityView Hop-On-Hop-Off Trolley ticket that is valid for two days (two full rotations of the route). The trolley visits a number of popular neighborhoods and attractions like the USS Constitution, Faneuil Hall, and Boston Common/Public Garden. It’s a great way to get around and also a great way to see where to find the best attractions (most of which are included in your pass) and learn about the city from the trolley drivers. It’s a great way to kick off your trip!

See History Come to Life

Take in the Freedom Trail Foundationยฎ Walk Into History Tour and see firsthand how America came to be. Your pass also includes entry to the Paul Revere House, the Old State House Museum, and the Old South Meeting House, so you can get an even more in-depth look at the history of America and the country’s journey to freedom. Every spot along the Freedom Trail provides intriguing historical insight, and, though educational, they’re all fun to see and visit.

Get on the Water

Boston’s nautical roots are strong, so why not take in some aquatic adventures while you’re in town? Your pass comes with a few different options. If you’re staying in the city, consider the Boston Sunset Cruise or the Historic Sightseeing Cruise. If you’re planning to explore outside the city, you can check out the Cape Cod Canal Cruise or the Hyannisport Harbor Cruise. Any of these options are especially fun during the warmer months; however, you’ll want to make sure you bring a sweater or a jacket since it can get cold on the open water.

Be a Boston Sports Fan for the Day

Whether you love the Red Sox or the Celtics or just enjoy learning about their history, your Boston pass comes with three tours that are perfect for sports lovers. Take a tour of Fenway Park, the oldest ballpark in America; explore TD Garden, the home of the Celtics and the Bruins; and check out the Sports Museum, also located at TD Garden. All three tours are guided, timed tours, so you’ll need to plan accordingly. TD Garden and Sports Museum tours are also subject to cancellation or time changes depending on events scheduled at TD Garden, including games and concertsโ€”call ahead to make sure you don’t waste any of your day!

Enjoy the View

You can easily multitask getting in some shopping at Prudential Center and checking out the best view in the whole city at View Boston. The stunning observation deck is located atop the shopping center and provides 360ยฐ of city views, so you can see all of the sights from above. Pro Tip– check the sunset times and plan your visit accordingly so you can catch the sunset from high above the city! It’s the perfect way to cap off a beautiful Boston day.
