“At Shake Shack, we pride ourselves on culinary innovation and our use of premium ingredients. Our White Truffle menu was inspired by our fine dining roots,” Nick Wuest, Senior Manager of Culinary Innovation at Shake Shack, explained. “Shake Shack was born out of NYC’s fine dining scene, and it’s an important part of our brand DNA. In 2021, we launched a seasonal Black Truffle menu. Our guests absolutely loved it, so we decided to elevate that menu even more with White Truffle. We’re in a unique position in that we are able to use a product that uses real white truffles, and we love the Regalis product that our menu currently uses.“

In addition to the White Truffle menu, the fan-favorite chain has a selection of flavorful spring shakes and lemonades on the seasonal menu. “Our current Shakes, Orange Dreamsicle and Tiramisu are inspired by seasonal ingredients and Italy – where many truffles are hunted,” Wuest said of the beverage menu. “We wanted to make sure there was a synergy between all our featured menu items. And our seasonal lemonades are no different; we are inspired by seasonal fruits and herbs when it comes to these menu items. 

Shake Shack is known for its varied selection of fun collaborations and its seasonal flavors and limited-time options. “Our innovation process starts several months, sometimes years before a limited-time item hits the menu. We research ingredients, meet with suppliers and then go through iterations of recipes and tastings until we have created what we believe our guests will love,” Wuest told us. “We all have unique backgrounds and interests that play well off each other and love to pull in local and seasonal ingredients where possible. Our team is always looking for inspiration near and far from our hometown green market at Union Square to chefs we’ve been privileged to collaborate with and cuisines from all over the world.”
