Digital Art at “Immersive Van Gogh” NYC

The immersive installations of creator Massimiliano Siccardi have amassed a global following since their debut in Europe. His newest exhibition “Immersive Van Gogh,” has taken the world by storm and has sold over two million tickets in major cities across the United States and Canada. With over 300,000 cubic feet of space to display the art, visitors can truly step into some of Van Gogh’s most famous paintings.

The much-anticipated exhibition Immersive Van Gogh presented by Lighthouse Immersive has now arrived at Lighthouse Las Vegas inside The Shops at Crystals.”Massimiliano Siccardi selected the images. We have licensed over 400 Van Gogh images from the greatest museums in the world. This is the raw material that Siccardi uses to deconstruct, sample, animate the pieces and create our installation,” Producer Corey Ross tells us.

Behind “Immersive Van Gogh”

“Immersive Van Gogh” takes visitors on a journey through some of the artist’s most renowned pieces, including La Chambre à coucher (The Bedroom, 1889) and Nuit étoilée (Starry Night, 1889). While imitators have tried, none have matched the true beauty of “Immersive Van Gogh.”

“Our creator, Massimiliano Siccardi, has been creating Immersive Art installations in Europe for over 30 years. He truly is the Steven Spielberg of the Immersive genre,” Ross has said. “When we asked him what should be the first installation that we bring to the USA, he really wanted to revisit Van Gogh, creating a new show that is beyond what ran in Paris. It’s a more personal and psychological investigation of Van Gogh and results in an edgier and more emotional presentation.”

No Two Spaces Are the Same

Though the exhibit visits numerous cities around the country, no two presentations will be truly identical. “While the content is the same, each installation is quite unique as part of what Massimiliano does is digitally map the architecture of the gallery where we are doing the installation,” Ross explains. “Every wall, column, floors, brickwork are animated with Van Gogh’s incredible organic work, which results in a complete transformation of the space. The architecture of each building is an active participant in the art installation, making each city’s presentation completely unique.”

The “Immersive Van Gogh” Difference

While there are many similar installations, “Immersive Van Gogh” is truly the original and a work of art in itself. “We believe artists create art, and because of this, our installations are at a completely different level. We have the world’s greatest immersive art installation creator in Massimiliano Siccardi, and expressly for New York and Las Vegas, our physical space is designed by David Korins, who designed sets for the Broadway show Hamilton. What is fascinating is how Siccardi and Korins refract and reflect, reinterpret and bring their own artistic sensibility to Van Gogh. This is the ultimate artistic collaboration,” Ross tells us. “This is a completely new medium. It marries art exhibition as you are seeing Van Gogh’s art, with film making, which is technically what Massimiliano does—he creates an animated film, and experiential where the public walks through the art itself, all of which is a completely new way of experiencing art. It’s so rare in life that a new medium like this emerges, and it’s so exciting.”

“Immersive Van Gogh” tickets are from $59.99, and dates are available at Lighthouse Las Vegas inside The Shops at Crystals, www.vangoghvegas.com.
